Hi I was just thinking about some things that have worked for me and you have probably tried these but............along with the minimal pairs drills do you use the pictues and have the student name them and then you select what he names? It can reinforce that incorrect productions make the listener do/select something that was not requested. With a game format it can be fun for him and make him want to say it right You can do it with following directions, fill in the blank, guess my word etc...just thinking out loud. Also has he ever heard himself on tape? If you think it might help you could even use a tape recorder to have him hear himself or find the word that was said. I have used the language master in the past and the kids love it.

I am actually beginning to see some signs of generalization in the last few weeks-YAHOO!! I tried doing word and syllable drills as well as some of the phonology work, and it seemed to click for him suddenly. I have actually heard him put some final consonants on his words spontaneously! Thank you so much for the ideas. I was possitively drained, and you really helped! I think I may try cycles now to address the gliding of fricatives as well as the FCD. Thanks again.

I'd like a copy too. THANK YOU!~

I'd also like to comment on therapy. I use hand signals to remind the child what sound to use at the end of a word. I use minimal pairs to have the child listen to the word I say and then point to the picture. I say a word to match a picture and have the child tell me if I said it "good" or "bad". For example, if I say "cup" for final /p/, I might say "cu", and the child must say "bad".
If the child is too confused about what sound to put at the end... remember the goal is to reduce FCD, so it's okay if initially the child puts something at the end of the word. You need to work on one process and then move to another... say FCD of /k/ and then stopping of initial /s/... rotating through processes.
