Is anyone using SLPAs primarily because you can't find SLPs to fill your positions? How are you doing it?
Although they aren't supposed to be used to increase caseload, that's exactly what we are doing because we can't find enough SLPs. We are thinking about having a full time SLPA at a school, with an SLP supervising about 30% of the time, (which includes IEP meetings, consultations, etc.) (i.e. everything else). Has anyone else done anything like this, and has it worked?

Used to do it all the time in one district. Worked VERY well.
