Deciders Take on Concepts software
I am getting ready to place an order for therapy materials and was wondering if anyone has had success with the Deciders Take on Concepts software by Thinking Publications. Do you think it would be a good investment and something that the kids would really benefit from or will I just end up parking it on the shelf? Thanks a bunch.

I have the Deciders software and the kids love it! It is fun, colorful, action packed and provides valuable information about where the kids stand. I highly recommend it.

I agree! The Deciders concepts CDs are wonderful. I have only had a chance to use Missions 1 and 2, but I have all 3 Missions. They are great to use with younger students. I love that you are able to get baseline data before beginning the missions with the Home and School tests. It is nice to be able to go back into the database and see how well your student has progressed. The characters, animation and sound effects are cool too. I always love start a new child on the program and being able to hear the cool song where the characters are introduced. Another nice part of the CDs are the ability to make blackline masters of the characters and sceens. I have reinforced some of the concepts on the CDs with these.

I only used the sample, but I found that my kids thought it was very boring. There was too much "wait" time. The program gives a lot of directions, and there was not as much "interaction" as I would have liked.
