The following Lateral Lisp document was submitted by an SLPForum user. It can be downloaded in a PDF file format at the following link:

Another program that has had good results is the straw and horn therapy by Sarah Rosenfeld-Johnson. Her website is www.talktoolstm.com. I attended a workshop of her last summer and began implementing the programs this past school year. One of my kindergarteners had remediated all sounds except for a frontal lisp. Instead of dismissing her and readmitting her in third grade, I began the straw program at home. Parents were consistent in using it throughout the summer and she returned to school using the /s,z/ sounds appropriately about 85% of the time. In graduate school (6 years ago), I was told that oral-motor therapy does not work. However, I have seen results with this program. It is definitely worth checking into and I highly recommend attending one of Sarah Rosenfeld Johnson's seminars if you can.

frontal and lateral lisp

Hello, everyone--I know this string of conversations has been around a while, but we've had a new interest from several people for this pdf file of intervention techniques for lateral lisp. Unfortunately, we've extensively searched our servers from AGS days back in 2002 and we're not able to find the file that one of the AGS employees posted back then. We'll keep looking as we do server work on the backside of the site, but for now, we have to consider it officially "lost" in cyberspace. My sincere apologies. I even did a Google search this afternoon to try to find it out on the general web, but no luck there either. If anyone does find it elsewhere, please re-post for all.

Thank you!

Good News!

We have found the lateral lisp document that so many of you have been asking for over the last few years. Thanks to our SLP colleague and friend, Kathy Swiney, for digging it up again. Here is the link to the pdf (you may need to cut and paste it into your browser as all one line):

One caveat--Kathy and I have not been able to locate complete sourcing on this document, unfortunately. If anyone can help with that, don't hesitate to post a reply here!

All the best,
