Judy Montgomery, PhD will present a complimentary webinar entitled “”The Bridge of Vocabulary” on July 31 and August 1, 2013 from 12:00-1:00 CST.
Children’s vocabulary acquisition and growth, though correlated with intellect, is greatly dependent upon experiences and environment. During this webinar, participants will review successful vocabulary intervention activities, linked to evidence-based research.
At the completion of the webinar, participants will be able to:
- Differentiate the four types of vocabulary.
- Estimate vocabulary size and type at several age levels.
- Explain at least three evidence-based interventions found in the – The Bridge of Vocabulary.
About the Presenter
Judy Montgomery is Professor, Program Director, Chapman University, Orange, CA. since 2009. She administers and teaches in a Graduate CSD program with an innovative clinical education program utilizing authentic school, private practice, and medical settings in the community. She is a former ASHA President; Board Recognized Specialist in Child Language; Editor-in-Chief of Communication Disorders Quarterly, and 2010 ASHA Honors recipient. Dr. Montgomery has authored 12 books on child language, literacy and the role of vocabulary and comprehension; and one standardized test of vocabulary development in children 3-12 yrs. Dr. Montgomery is the author of The Bridge of Vocabulary.
This course is offered for 0.1 ASHA CEUs (Intermediate level, Professional area).
Program completion requirements: Participants in this program must meet the time requirements for module completion and webinar participation. Individuals who do not meet time requirements will not be recommended for ASA CEUs. No partial credit will be provided.

This presentation will focus exclusively on The Bridge of Vocabulary and will not include information on other similar or related products or services.
About the ASHA CE Registry Fee
An annual ASHA CE Registry fee is required to earn ASHA CEUs. Individuals must meet one of the following criteria to earn ASHA CEUs:
– ASHA Member (includes Life member and International affiliates)
– ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) Holder
– Licensed by a state or provincial regulatory agency to practice speech‐language pathology (SLP) or audiology
– Credentialed by a state regulatory agency to practice SLP or audiology
– Credentialed by a national regulatory agency to practice SLP or audiology
– A Clinical Fellow supervised by someone who holds the ASHA CCC
– Currently enrolled in a masters or doctoral program in SLP or audiology
The participant pays ASHA CE Registry fees directly to the ASHA National Office. The annual ASHA CE Registry fee allows registration of an unlimited number of ASHA CEUs for the calendar year.
