I was working with a third grader on literacy skills. After reading a passage about a "dense forest," I asked her what dense meant. Since she didn't know, I explained that when you can't see through something, it is dense. Her eyes lit up as she replied, "Oh, I get it. So, you're dense!" Yes, I guess I am.
